Meal Prepping June #1

THE CRUCIAL LAST STEP

TO STICKING TO BUDGET!
.

.

It's the last crucial step toward saving more money

on your groceries and sticking to budget!

Come join us as we embark on a 6 hour journey over three separate days

to get all our food prep done!

Two hours on Friday, two hours on Saturday, and

finally two hours into Sunday.

.

.

Things that were cooked this meal prep were spaghetti sauces,

which were made for spaghetti, then as leftovers we use it for:

Baked potatoes, nachos, jaffles (it tastes great in them!),

and you could even use leftover pastry and make spaghetti rolls!

Can you ever have too many snacks with kids?

They just seem to eat and eat and eat and it never stops.

I assume teens are worse, haha! But my kids are like that too,

so this is why I divide it up!

As I shop fortnightly, I will buy snacks in lots of two.

So two packs of Jumpys, two packs of teddy biscuits, and so on.

I will divide them up for week one and then week two.

Week two snacks are then popped away high out of sight so the kids don't see.

This is such a benefit, as I have found the snacks go further.

I find that if I divide snacks (especially ones that don't come individually

wrapped) they go so much further in my house.

As I have learnt, there are much more sustainable ways than using ziplocs (which you can still wash out and reuse, plus you can recycle soft plastics). They are called:

The BioBag reusable storage bags

I am so thankful I popped up my grocery post

and I had a few people comment on all the plastic,

which certainly is something that I can change. They are

not that expensive and something that will last me. Plus they

are compostable, the first ever!

Thank you to that wonderful lady who gave me the link!
