Beef Stroganoff

INGREDIENTS

500g mince
200g sliced mushrooms
1 large sliced onion
2 Tbsp. oil to fry
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp mustard powder
1 cup beef stock
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. sour cream
Salt and pepper to taste
Extra sour cream to garnish

STEPS

Step 1. Chop all vegetables then set aside.

Step 2. Add oil to frying pan, and then add onion, mushrooms, and brown for at least 7-8 mins. Set aside.

Step 3. Add oil to frying pan, and then add the mince cook until browned. Once browned drain the mince and return back to the frying pan.

Step 4. Add flour to the mince, and then add all other ingredients except the sour cream. Stir until combined. Then bring to the boil.

Step 5. Once boiled, turn down to a simmer and simmer until desired thickness is accomplished.

Step 6. Add 2 cups of washed rice to a medium sized pot. Add 3 cups of water. Bring to the boil. Once boiled turn down to a very low simmer with the lid on and simmer for at least 12-15 mins.

Step 7. Once Stroganoff is cooked, turn off the heat and stir in the sour cream. Serve with rice and extra sour cream.
